Blockbuster Cafe

Posted by eyore, 28 July 2011 · 207 views

The Blockbuster cafe is divided into two sections based on two movies (or at least two series of movies).
The first section is a pirate themed area reflecting the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, the second being High School Musical. The high school musical section being by far the larger of the two.
Both have background music loops.
To date, we have only explored the pirate section (amd don't hold your breath for the High School Musical section but we will get around to it eventually) :P
The intention is to change themes on a regular basis depending on what films Disney wants to promote.
This is what was playing (and taken from a live reference recording) in July 2011.
The listing will remain here even if it changes in the future, of course, although we will hope to update with newer loops as and when they appear.

Pirate Section

The following is the loop that plays there.
All tracks (bar one, it seems) are from the movies (which are listed alongside the titles ) and all available from the soundtrack albums.
You'll notice that tracks are edited and repeated (not necessarily the same sections).
The one track that appears to be not from the movies is Yo-Ho which is identical to the one played on the ride

Isn't this the same loop as what is used at WDW?

Any way to get an induction recording there?
It does look like the same loop. On the Yo Ho section, Shazaam tagged Walk The Plank, which when overlaid on the reference recording is a perfect match (just before the flute section). It may be that Walk The Plank and Jack Sparrow use the same music (needs a little further investigation). The flute section could be edits from the attraction BGM - again when overlaid they sound a match. Unfortunately all the speakers are located in the ceiling so no induction recording possible I'm afraid. The other side of the restaurant is HSM related - I wasn't able to capture anything due to lack of time
