Duration: approx. 60.00

Notes: The France Interior Music plays in limited areas. The above short list is based on live recordings from inside the Impressions de France Theater between performances, i.e. load / unload. Horizons also provided a short live recording from inside the "Library Room" of [what shop?], which included La Mer. I have also heard a version of Cancan.

The France Interior Music was arranged by Bobby Hammick, a long time jazz musician and Disney composer. According to Disney historian Paul Anderson, Hammick arranged the music for it's a small world for the New York World's Fair.

One of the first things I did when I started trying to sort out the World Showcase music was to begin listening to whatever versions I could find of the songs listed in the Guest Services playlists because I wanted to easily be able to identify tracks should recordings become available. The tunes associated with the France Interior Music are now easily some of my favorite songs, all from these phenomenal French artists, mostly from the 1930s, '40s, and '50s. One of the great things about this project, and collecting Disney music in general, has been the opportunity to be introduced to all kinds of music from around the world that I would otherwise perhaps never have encountered.

Regarding the exterior loop, I remember 17b from the Nutcracker ballet, though I haven't been able to identify which part it is yet... Little help, I know! Also, tracks 1 and 11 through 15 are used in the Storybookland area loop of DLP...
I know this is gonna sound like a crazy idea...but...what with all the Europeans around DLP, can't we ask an actual French person? :-)
I confess that I heard track 5 playing last time I was at Epcot and I almost dashed into the Kidcot stations to ask the college student on duty if she recognized the tune as a familiar French nursery rhyme. Alas, it was over by the time she wasn't surrounded by kids (figured it would've been rude to push them out of the way).

The other songs aren't particularly obscure, so I'm guessing many French folk would be familiar with them. But several hours of French kids' cartoons on youtube failed to enlighten poor lil' American me.
