Frontierland Restrooms

Posted by eyore, 13 November 2011 · 608 views

Yes, you did read that right. Restrooms (toilets) and strictly a work in progress!

There are several restrooms situated around Frontierland. One at the rear of the fort, one next to the Fuente del Oro restaurant (and looking similar as an Adobe building and one near the main entrance to Phantom Manor).
Possibly one or two more - not the sort of thing you note down

The fort still has to be checked although I seem to remember it playing the same audio as the wall walks (see entry under Fort Comstock).
The Fuento restrooms play the standard Frontierland loop of Western Movie themes. Again, see under the Thunder Mesa entry for the listing.

The restroom is situated at the end of the row of stores leading to the main entrance to Phantom Manor.
It appears to be the only location that this loop plays (although there may be others we just haven't yet visited).

The loop contains many track titles from the WDW Frontierland loop but they are not the same versions nor in the same order. These tracks are slower and more orchestral in nature.
I have no information as to how long this track has played although I have needed to visit said restroom in previous years and was only aware of the loop in 2009.
Full marks to whichever of us managed a live recording under such circumstances and to all three of us for wading through an hour of Frenchmen using the facility while listening to the music :)
If anyone has any information on this loop and where else in the park it may play, please let us know.
We have been unable to find any sources for any of the tracks which may indicate that this is a Disney produced loop.
We have also been unable to find this playing at any other park.
It may possibly play in the servery area of the Last Chance cafe but it was too noisy to identify anything other than that it was a different loop to the exterior area which plays the standard Frontierland movie loop.

It doesn't play in the Last Chance Cafe... that one has a honky tonk piano loop which it may or may not share with the Lucky Nugget Saloon. My guess always was that it's the Silver Spur Steakhouse loop, but I imagine that you checked.

I can confirm that it's been around as early as 1999 and probably since opening.
Thank you. I had a sneaking hope you may be able to shed some light on this one.
The Silver Spur eh, that's one of the few we haven't yet visited (down for next year though) ;)
It was really noisy in the Last Chance this year so I could only hear the loop was different but just couldn't hear how but I thought I heard some piano sounds (there's a piano on one or two of the restroom tracks - in particular Clementine, which I why I hoped it may be that one. Thanks for the information.
I'll have a look on Youtube and see if I can find any clips for the Silver Spur.
Your help, as always, is appreciated.
It would be great if this was the same as the Pecos Bill loop in WDW. I don't have any information on this loop, except for hearing a version of La Bamba. Most of the other songs I heard are similar to the general Frontierland loop.
I'm trying to notate (as best I can) the actual music in the unknown tracks and then compare them to my reference books of cowboy songs.
I'm sure that La Bamba isn't in it ;) (Nor is Pecos Bill)
As I said, these are quite different from the versions in the Frontierland loop although DLRP do use that loop (in small sections or singly) around Frontierland.
The Silver Spur is on our "where to eat next visit" list.
The restrooms are quite near to the Silver Spur so we are hopeful.
The Silver Spur is B on this map and the restroom is just south (taking the map as having North to the top)at the end of the small spur just beneath the B. Could well be part of the same building "behind the scenes".

Yep, it is the same building. Actually, they're also right next to each other, though they're visually separated by the "undertaker's" facade.
Thought so. I knew there was "something" between the front views but couldn't remember what (restrooms don't usually appear in my holiday photos) That's a good indicator that it's the same loop.
Thanks. Guess I'll just have to eat there then ;)
