Pirates of the Caribbean is situated at the start of Adventureland from Fantasyland.
The area surrounding the attraction including Hook's ship and the Plage de Pirates (play area for children) together with the bridge joining Adventureland to Fantasyland share the Pirate Cove loop (please see entry under that name for details) as does the exterior queue area for the ride.
The ride was redesigned for DLRP and the entrance passes alongside the seating area for the Blue Lagoon Restaurant.
The ride starts with a steep climb and then a drop past the Pirate ship and well scene and continues much as other versions. There is no Bayou at DLRP.
The audio (apart from the sound effects and vocals) consists of just the "Yo-Ho a Pirates life for me music " throughout the ride and interior queue area with the same tune sung by the three pirates (as in other versions) in one section of the ride.
The ride exits through the caverns and past Davy Jones's Locker. The ride is still (more or less with the odd addition such as the duelling pirates) the same as built and has not yet (2012) been adapted to reflect the Pirates of the Caribbean series of movies. One interesting alteration is the animatronic of a pirate chasing a lady - followed by a lady chasing the pirate. The former was removed.
The music runs for the duration of the ride and changes to the Pirate Cove loop on entering the shop.
