One of my favorite things about doing this blog is that I sometimes get specific requests for information on a particular piece of music, or tips about something to check out. I recently received a message from wedroy1923 that was a bit of both:

I was at Disneyland this last Tuesday and noticed something at the river level of the Hungry Bear Restaurant / Bathrooms: it's the old Mile Long Bar tracks from the Country Bear Jamboree LP!

Do you know if this loop plays more than is contained on that LP? The reason for asking is I'm wondering if this loop might be the same one used at the Magic Kingdom's Mile Long Bar.
Well I went and made a recording and, while I can't comment on the Magic Kingdom's Mile Long Bar loop, I can give a listing of what is playing at the Hungry Bear.

Loop runs 16:05.

1. Bang! Goes Old Betsy
2. Red River Valley
3. Polly Wolly Doodle
4. Home on the Range*
5. Bile 'Em Cabbage Down
6. Bearless Love
7. Wabash Cannonball

All of these tracks can be found on the original Country Bear Jamboree LP (which, conveniently, is available on iTunes) with the exception of Home on the Range. Interestingly enough, in his message wedroy goes on to state:

By the way, I the Disneyland Paris Big Thunder Mountain loop contained a version of Home on the Range in the same style as the CBJ LP tracks, so I think there ARE probably more than just those LP tracks.
Some additional research will be needed to determine the origin of the Home on the Range track.

EDIT 5/15: 4 months later, I now have a copy of the DLRP Big Thunder Mountain loop, ironically sent to me by wedroy1923 himself, and I can confirm that the version of "Home on the Range" that plays in that loop is the same version that plays in the Hungry Bear loop. To get the whole loop, then, you'll need the 6 tracks from the Country Bear Jamboree LP as well as a recording of the DLRP loop- the track in question is track 23.

FURTHER EDIT: I now see as well that wedroy had already confirmed as such in the comments, so I guess the only thing that's been accomplish is that I've finally updated my post.

Thanks for checking this out! I am wondering if this loop actually served as the original Bear Country area loop, meaning it served the entire Bear Country "land" rather than just either the Mile Long Bar or Hungry Bear Restaurant?
I wonder if its part of the recording sessions the Garden Grill loop was sourced from? I still can't find the version of Coming Around the Mountain used in this loop.
Couple other notes: All seven tracks appear in the Disneyland Paris Big Thunder loop in the order they are played in the Hungry Bear Restaurant loop. The tracks appear in a completely different order on the 1972 (?) Country Bear Jamboree album.

Now, some of these same tracks appear in an earlier Magic Kingdom Frontierland loop which has circulated for some time, running about 43.03. To my knowledge, no one has confirmed that this loop actually played in the Magic Kingdom. In that loop, the tracks appear in this order: Red River Valley, Polly Wolly Doodle, Wabash Cannonball, Old Betsy, Bile'em Cabbage Down.

I would be curious to know if the Hungry Bear Restaurant loop that C33 captured was actually a general Bear Country loop, used not only in the Hungry Bear Restaurant / Golden Bear Lodge location but also in the Mile Long Bar and Country Bear Playhouse lobby area.

It is interesting how prominently these tracks figure in my memory, just how closely I associate them with my Walt Disney World experience. I am sure part of that was because of the CBJ LP, which I played over and over again as a child, but beyond that, I find a real "warmth" to this music, I can close my eyes and feel a cool breeze on an early November night in Frontierland . . . okay, I'm babbling . . . going to stop now.
Is your "Home on the Range" 3:45? I just wanted to confirm that the one I have is the correct one.
