So I haven't posted much on the blog at late, but that's not for lack of work going on. I've spent most of my time sorting through finished playlists and formatting them for the new playlist section. The Disneyland section is the biggest so far (come on Jay and Horizons!), and I intend to keep it that way for as long as possible!
As with most other things in recent memory, in the loops department most of the focus has been on DCA. There are old loops that need to have playlists checked for accuracy, and new loops to be identified.
I have been doing a lot of walking around at Disneyland and checking for where loops are playing or not. The Space Mountain Concourse loop has yet to reappear since the HISTA/Captain EO transformation, but the Epcot Innoventions loop has made a return to the upstairs area of Disneyland's Innoventions.
I've also put some time into researching the oft-forgotten loops of Main Street. Did you know that there are a whopping 10 loops in this land alone?
Main Street USA Loop
Disney Gallery Loop
Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln Lobby Loop
Main Street Cinema Loop
Emporium Loop
Crystal Arcade Loop
The Storybook Store Loop
China Closet Loop
Chester Drawers/Disney Clothiers Loop
Plaza Inn Loop
Most of these loops, the store loops in particular, go unnoticed, but they are there if you listen to them. And all this of course isn't even counting all of the live music on Main Street, such as the Dapper Dans, Firehouse Band, All American College Band, Penny Arcade Caliope, Main Street Pianist, Disneyland Band, etc.
The Main Street Cinema has undergone a temporary transformation in celebration of the 55th, and along with new films has recieved a new loop that is mostly sourced from the Musical History of Disneyland set. I've done a partial recording/playlist already and will be going back to get the rest on my next trip.
