Hotel Cheyenne

The Hotel Cheyenne is one of the cheaper budget (two star) Disney hotels and themed as a Wild West town. The façades of the buildings are right out of a cowboy movie but the rooms within are similar to the other Disney hotels with the exception of having one double bed and one set of bunk beds (great fun for the kids).

The Hotel Cheyenne was another area that changed the background music in 2012 for the 20th anniversary of the park opening.
The loop is long (several hous) and, as such, it may take a while to complete the listing. We have secured several live recordings but are, unfortunately, lacking some sections. We also still need to ascertain whether the entire loop plays throughout the hotel or whether different areas play different sections/different loops.
Any information would be gladly accepted as this is still a work in progress.
The present listing is followed by the listing for the previous loop (2). No sign of these previous loops were noted in 2012 or 2013.
Here's what we have so far. The numbers to the left are the timings from the recording (you'll notice that each "style" retains the usual approximate one hour time for DLRP loops). We have accordingly named these sections as follow:-
A Line Dance
B How The West Was Won
C Country
Loops A B & C appear to follow each other consecutively but there are more tracks before and after for which we do not have a reference recording.
For Purists.
Note that the release dates for the sources quoted may appear to be too late for their use in the park from 1992.
It should be noted that the original recordings were made between 1936 and the late 70's and have appeared on many albums and CDs since then - these compilation albums being the most recent.
Again, all credit to needmagic and wedroy1923 for their work and identification skills.

Hotel Santa Fe

The Hotel Santa Fe is the less costly of the hotels that border the edge of the park.
As it's name suggests, it reflects the adobe buildings of the South West with yucca and cactus used in the planting.
Each section is designated a symbol - a roadrunner, a buffalo, a snake and a fish. The rooms are thus allocated by the symbol and the number within that section.
The restaurant, as may be expected, specializes in Tex-Mex food and entertainment.

The main complex has a background music loop which was, in the past, fully Mexican/South Western in style. Recently (2010) they have decided to incorporate the movie Cars into the themeing (replacing the giant drive-in movie screen picture at the main entrance from Clint Eastwood as "the man with no name" with a scene from Cars.
The music loops have also changed.
We apologize for being unable to confirm the list for the original 1992-2009 loop but we never got around to recording it
We do, however, list the loop from the official Park Listing.
We have no reason to suppose it's incorrect but we do normally still check to a live recording to confirm them.
This isn't possible for a loop no longer playing.

Now the current loops (from live recordings taken May 2010 and July 2011 and May 2013) are somewhat (!) complicated as the loops are split between areas (basically the cars loop plays where the children can hear it but is excluded from the more adult areas and replaced by a more adult-orientated one)
We describe the loops as Salsa, Tex-Mex,Cars and Disco for reasons of clarity only.
It seems that the Entrance (exterior) plays Loops A, B and C and the Restaurant and bar (interior) plays loops B, C, D.

The loops used are as follows:

1. The Entrance (or exterior)
A: The Salsa segment (complete)
B: The Tex-Mex segment (incomplete)
Disco Loop (loop D)
The Bar & Restaurant area also plays the music used from the above but it seems the Salsa segment is omitted and is replaced by the Disco loop which includes:-

La Duena De Mis Ojos (Remix)
Asereje
Una De Cal Y Una De Arena
Que El Ritmo No Pare
Que La Detengan
Vuelve El Amor
Balla Mulata

Disco Algeria 2002.

Last year the following tracks were heard (but not recorded) in the Bar & Restaurant area which are by the same artists that feature in the Tex-Mex segment but we do not have an actual recording for them in the Entrance loop. This consisted of the following tracks and we suspect will fit (somewehere) within the missing section of Entrance Tex-Mex segment. There may be more tracks than this still to discover.

01. Mentira Salome
02. El Cuchipe

The area surrounding space mountain had it's own loop from it's opening (1995) until 2005 (when the area music stopped and the general Discoveryland loop played throughout the area - as it still does).
We don't have a full live recording of this loop, unfortunately, but this list has been compiled using information from the webmaster at Sound of Magic as well as information offered by Progressland, Max, and X-S Tech at Magic Music.net circa. 2006 and we thank them for the information. We believe this is an accurate listing but, as said (and unusually for this blog) we don't have a full recording to compare to as the loop no longer plays so are unable to confirm 100%.
Recording dated 20th October 2012.
Not yet worked out the loop length and there is no obvious break to indicate where the loop actually starts. Still one unknown, sorry.

Le Cabane des Robinsons (Swiss Family Treehouse).

Le Cabane des Robinsons is taken directly from the film Swiss Family Robinson and involves a long climb (stairs - 176 of them!) to the top of the treehouse and passing all the various rooms as shown in the movie and then back down again (good views of the park from up there).
Near the top is a room with the harmonium.
The attraction plays just the one tune as background music:
Swissapolka.

This can be found on several park CDs and is identical to the tune used for the similar attraction that was to be found in WDW.
The tune may be found on this set amongst others.

Cave of Wonders (a front view of the cave entrance as it rises from the sand)

Jafar as the snake.(with Jasmine in the hourgalss and the genie cowering behind a pillar)
The passage itself plays The Marketplace from the Aladdin OST and each scene plays an instrumental version of the appropriate tune from the movie. The final tune also has some vocals.

Treasures of Scheherazade

Treasures of Scheherazade is a souvenir boutique next to the Agrabah Cafe Restaurant in Adventureland.
In the early days of the park, skilled workers could be seen hammering designs into brass objects or sale. Now it's joined the other stores and boutiques with general Disney souvenirs although with a leaning towards an Aladdin theme.
Look out for the giant camel!
Scheherazade is the narrator of 1001 nights.
The area shares the same background music as the exterior and the restaurant.

Captain Hook's Pirate Ship stands next to Skull Rock (near to the Pirates of the Caribbean) and has been a walk-on attraction with a quick service cafe below.
Since the 20th refurbishment (and as at August 2012) the entrance was roped off with no access and the service area closed. The deck of the ship is now normally open (must have known I was coming) but the snack bar still remains closed (August 2012).
