New 'Disneyland Explorer' App for iPad: Take a Spin Around the Happiest App on Earth

The magical sights and sounds of Disneyland Resort can now be discovered with "Disneyland Explorer," the official Disney Parks app for iPad, available as a free download from the App Store. When you can't get to the theme parks, the hotels or the Downtown Disney District, you can tap the photo-realistic carousel of this app to reveal photos, video and special activities inspired by the classic attractions and entertainment at the resort.

More than 100 exciting experiences are shared with beautiful images, animation and interactive touch points. With a simple swipe of your fingers, you can explore Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, the themed suites at the Disneyland Hotel and much more. Hello, Everyone. Someone on this board had told me that the CBJ records had come out in both mono and stereo, but I have had many other people inform me that the records were only released in mono. I have two of the old original records myself, and both are mono. If someone can clear up this mystery, or tell me how I can obtain a stereo copy of this attraction, I would be a very happy camper. I personally loved this ride, and the music, but there are many people who hate it, and I don't understand this at all.

Y&B/BoardWalk Recording

If I get the chance, I plan on doing a reference recording at the Yacht and Beach Club as well as BoardWalk pretty soon. I have a couple of questions if anyone has any advice. I'm very new at this.

First, does anyone have recommendations on possible speaker locations to use? I'm thinking inside might be better since it's a little chilly in FL right now.

Also, I'll just be using my iPhone or Mac to make the recording. Any recommendations on an app or program to use for recording?

Maxwell DeMille invites you to DEAN MORA DAY at Disneyland. At noon let's meet at the flagpole on Main Street to enjoy the debut of Dean Mora's Music at Disneyland, USA! The tired old recorded music of Main Street will be replaced by Dean Mora's fresh new "old time" music!

From Dean Mora:
"Okay, the truth can now be told: Last spring I was contacted by the folks at Disney Imagineering to record a new music loop for Disneyland's Main Street, to replace the old one that had been playing at the Park for some 20 years.

So during the summer I helped to select the new lineup of songs to be recorded -- we kept about half of the previous song list, and added new "old" songs (including Maple Leaf Rag and Alexander's Ragtime Band) as well as the "Married Life" tune from the movie "UP".

For the arrangements, I used a good number of period arrangements, in addition to my own arrangements (as well as a handful of charts from trombonist Jim McMillen). We recorded all the tracks at Capitol Studios back in September, and now I can say with a good degree of certainty that the new music loop will start playing at the Park beginning Monday morning, January 9th.

Thanks to all the musicians who helped make this project possible, as well as the production staff at Disney Imagineering. We hope you all enjoy our music at the Park for many years to come."

Liberty Square (Mickey's Very Merry Xmas Party) Loop

I believe I found the source to the Liberty Square music during the party. I took a close listen (stupid me didn't do a reference reference recording ). The music has alotta resemblance to the Columbia Harbour House loop. The holiday music does however play from the start of the Liberty Tree Tavern all the way through to the Liberty Belle Landing. Also the loop does not play inside the Christmas Shoppe, Liberty Tree or the Columbia Harbour House. I know Horizons has mentioned do a reference recordings, but after talking to a few managers, I think I landed on something I was about 50% sure on when he told me. Here was our coversation word for word.

Me: Hey______, I was wondering if you knew or have any info on this loop playing around LS during the parties.

Him: It has the same instrumental type as the Harbour House, so my best bet is Holiday/Christmas-type cd(s) from the same artist.

Me: Well the artist for Columbia Harbor House is Various as it uses old 20,000 Leagues queue songs, some sources are unknown, but a big chunk of the loop is from an album called "Wind in the Rigging: A New-England Voyage" by Otis Read.

Him: Luke, I think you might have answered your question for your holiday loop, cause Otis Read HAS released 2 Christmas albums, both under the same name, just 2 volumes or 2 disc-set. .

After speaking with him I came home and hunted down Otis Read sources and came across this site and low and behold, the cds my source mentioned are true......here is the link I came across http://otisread.com/cds/cds1.html#christmas . Now I need to track down these 2 discs and get a live recording for reference and see what matches.

I listened to the samples on that page and it sounds dang close to the loop, but I need help. I need an IR or Live Reference of the loop. Horizons, my friend, lemme know if this helps ya, or anyone else with the knowledge of this loop, cause I believe I have struck gold and found the sources. But need further confirmation.

I'm trying to find lyrics to / an online recording of a song I remember from childhood -- we're talking late 60's, early 70's. I had an album of children's music, and one song I loved spoke of "Ten little mice out on the floor, square dancing like never before..." and lots of la-la-la's and fiddle accompaniment. In the end, the whole happy scene is ruined by the sudden presence of a "Caaaaaat!" I'm dead certain it's a Disney song but I can find no reference to it, and I've no idea what movie it's from; my first thought would be 'Cinderella' though the album art, if I remember, more resembled 'Snow White'. Does anyone else remember this or has my brain clouded over the years? Thanks in advance!

Legality of Streaming/Podcasting Disney Music

Sorry, I don't mean to barge back onto the forum after a few years of inactivity and ask a bunch of questions, but I wonder if somebody would shed some light on the legality of DTunes Live, Mouse World Radio, and other outlets that stream copyrighted Disney music (parks, shows, soundtracks, etc.) up to 128kbps via Live365.com and other websites. How can they get away with this?

I've also wondered about podcasts like Inside the Magic and others that weave copyrighted Disney content into their productions (as bumper music, background, sometimes even playing full length tracks). IttM is obviously propping Disney and is obviously a fan-oriented podcast, but Ricky Brigante is also selling ads and profiting from the podcast. I've heard a lot of crappy Disney podcasts, and the music/ambiance goes a long way. It's easily argued that Brigante's use of copyrighted Disney content boosts the quality of the production, and thus his revenue. Again, is this illegal. If so, how do people like Brigante get away with it?

MK Holiday Loop Question - Angels We Have Heard on High

I could swear I saw a complete MK Holiday playlist somewhere here at some point, but I'm having no luck with search. I was at MK during the Very Merry Christmas Party on Friday and heard a version of "Angels We Have Heard On High" while walking from Tomorrowland into the hub. I can't describe the instrumentation, but it was very distinctive. It was non-orchestral, quasi-electronic, maybe. I only heard about 10 seconds before I got across the bridge and it was drowned out by what seemed to be a castle-specific loop. Can anybody tell me what that the artist might have been on this version of this song?

Hi folks;

I'm still working on my early Magic Kingdom audio projects and was wondering if anyone knows if the original (or Original-ish) Wagner tracks from the Florida WEDWAY Peoplemover have survived? The Disneyland tracks aren't too hard to come by, but what I really need is the Florida one.

Also: Riverboat narration. The earliest version of the narration for the FL version I can find is from the early 90s. Anybody know if earlier tracks are still floating around out there? Thanks!
