Space Mountain Concourse / Tomorrowland Area Music

Does anyone know when the Space Mountain Concourse music containing the Tomorrowland 2055 tracks was installed at Disneyland? Is it still used?

Tied to this is another question: When was the current Tomorrowland area music, the version similar to what is used at the Magic Kingdom and Tokyo Disneyland installed? Did it replace the Space Mountain Concourse music?

New CA Loops

Has anybody been able to come up with playlists for Hollywood Land and Buena Vista Street? I know that they're both old-timey jazz loops, but I'm assuming they're probably newer versions of some sort. Anybody know anything? Also, what's the list for the new Paradise Pier loop?

DLP - "it's a small world - celebration" Loop

During holiday season, "it's a small world" in Paris receives its own holiday overlay. It's quite different from the Californian version but uses the same music for the ride.

Outside the attraction and in the queue plays an area music loop mixed from the ride's soundtrack especially for Paris. Like the regular area music loop this is really just one looping medley but I thought that some completists might be interested in a tracklist of sorts.

Is the music in Be Our Guest directly from Beauty and the Beast or is it redone?

Is the any outdoor area music across New Fantasyland?

Is the "singing" parts in The Little Mermaid Ariel's Undersea Adventure directly from the movie or redone for the attraction? What plays in the queue?

Disney Parks Official Album Releases — No More?

Has anyone else here, besides Me, been wondering when we will see a NEW Official Album released? Also, what ever happened to the smaller park related releases Randy Thornton spoke of, that he was going to do and release....... Does anyone have any leads or new information on this or perhaps, Mr. Thornton, if you see this post, could you shed some light on this and any updates you might be able to share with all of us?! Disney's Aulani Pool Area Music?

So, has anyone been able to identify any tracks on an Aulani background loop (not the lobby music, I'm talking about the music you hear by the pool and in the elevators)? I know about Keali'i Reichel doing the music for the Maka'Ala (lobby); the CD that is only available in Japan.

My family and I were there in October, but we were so relaxed that it didn't occur to us to record any of the music until we were on the flight home. D'oh!

I actually wrote to Guest Services and asked if anyone knew the songs, but I don't suppose Disney would want to make it too easy for me to re-create that resort-like atmosphere in the chilly Midwest.

I didn't know if anyone (who had a large amount of Polynesian style music) had started deciphering the tracks.

What is this that I remember from my youth, related to the Aristocats?

I remember something probably on TV with Jiminy Cricket introducing or promoting the film, where at first he says "The Aristocrats" then says I mean "The Aristocats" I believe this was accompanied by the change in the words written on the screen. I think this may have been in conjunction with the 1980 re-release.

One of the holiday traditions my family most looks forward to each year is a visit to The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Since the show's debut in 1995, it has never failed to impress me. Over the years, the display has grown to more than 5 million lights and been enhanced with everything from a complete conversion to energy-efficient LEDs to the addition of images and music from Disney's "Prep & Landing" television specials. It's all so tinsel!

The team behind The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights keeps looking for new ways to "plus" the show. This year, Santa Goofy joins the fun, making nightly appearances on the Streets of America. You'll be able to meet him in Goofy's Winter Wonderland, a special area set up right in Tri-City Square.

Also new is the addition of an ~~eighth~~ (ninth! —Admin) song for the dancing lights. Joining returning favorites like "Feliz Navidad" by José Feliciano and Barbra Streisand's version of "Jingle Bells" will be a special arrangement of the classic "Winter Wonderland" by Creative Entertainment Music Director Dan Stamper.

"As we talked about adding a new piece, we wanted to add something lyric and flowing," said Dan. "To me, the title 'Winter Wonderland' meant a time of transformation from hustle and bustle to an elegant beauty. In my mind were images of billowing marshmallow landscapes; where in the city, even the starkest, dark industrial buildings become a thing of beauty with snowcaps and gleaming icicles. The piece grows to a crescendo and then slowly fades as families gather together in their homes to escape the chill."

Get ready to be dazzled by The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, November 9 through January 6.

In the wake of the extremely popular "Music from Cars Land" album, another new CD comes out November 6 that has already become a favorite among Disney cast members. "The Circle Sessions: The Music of Carthay Circle" offers, for the first time, sparkling jazz versions of great Disney songs, selected from the soundtrack of the Carthay Circle Restaurant and Lounge at Disney California Adventure park!

"We really wanted to capture music across all generations and breathe new life into treasured and familiar songs," said John Dennis, Director, Music Production, Walt Disney Imagineering, who is music supervisor and producer of the new album. "Everyone involved wanted to allow the variations to weave a different tapestry for our guests."

Even though several of the songs were created after the themed 1937 setting of the restaurant, the smooth, evocative jazz approach is right at home in the period. But choosing from the voluminous catalog of Disney songs was a daunting task. In cooperation with Chris Montan, President of Walt Disney Music, these are the eclectic, wide-ranging gems they mined for a fresh, yet classic, jazz approach:

Not only does the CD feature some of the most beloved Disney songs with an upbeat, sophisticated twist, but this timeless collection also creates an ambiance that allows the listener to feel like they are in another time and place.

"Did you know that the selection of music actually changes from the downstairs to the upstairs?" fellow Disney Parks Blog writer Michelle Harker asked me—and I did not know that! "Guests on the first level will often hear these pieces represented by an ensemble trio, while those dining in the restaurant upstairs, will enjoy the same music but in a variety of light jazz piano tones."

John is quick to point out the musical virtuosity behind this music. Los Angeles, CA — WaterTower Music has announced the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Original Motion Picture Soundtrack at all retailers on December 11th. The soundtrack will be available both digitally and as a 2 CD set. A Special Edition of the soundtrack featuring six exclusive bonus tracks, seven extended score cues, and deluxe liner notes will also be available December 11. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey features original score by Academy Award® winner Howard Shore recorded at famed Abbey Road studios by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Additionally it includes an original song entitled "Song of the Lonely Mountain," written and performed by Neil Finn (Crowded House). The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the first of a trilogy of films from Oscar-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy), will be released in the U.S. on December 14, 2012.

Shore's music for The Lord of the Rings Trilogy has been performed in concerts throughout the world. In 2003, Shore conducted the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in the world premiere of The Lord of the Rings Symphony in Wellington, New Zealand. Since then, the work has had over 140 performances by the world's most prestigious orchestras, and has even been the subject of a book, Music of The Lord of the Rings Films.

"I have looked forward to returning to the imaginative world of Middle-earth for quite a while," says Shore. "I read all of the books by Tolkien, including The Hobbit, when I was in my twenties, and his deep love of nature and all things green resonates deeply with me."
