Are there any accessible speakers in these areas?

No. There is a speaker in the restroom, next to the arcade, but it is currently out.

I can confirm that it's still out in the ladies' room, too, as of yesterday.

I should have Pop Century's Halloween playlist up shortly. This one gets mostly a thumbs down from me. Apparently, any song with the words "candy" or "magic" in the title or lyrics, even if it's about a young girl being seduced by an older man ("Magic Man"), somehow translates to "Halloween."

The listing will be interesting to see. Even in the UK there is a plethora of Halloween discs being stocked by Walmart-type stores at the moment. They even have the same name but the playlist varies but share several tracks. (Monster mash, Purple people eater, theme from Nightmare before Christmas etc). Any indications if Disney has used a previously-issued Halloween compilation for their loop rather than sourced individual tracks?

This doesn't sound all that interesting then. The new Adventureland loop used at the Halloween party has several odd choices, but the radio style loop (WARR) with pirate DJ made it worth recording.

I have added Pop Century Resort [Halloween] to the Playlists section. :)

A number of tracks had to be found the old-fashioned way, including "Bare Bones Woman Blues," "Big Black Cat," and "Black Cat."

Cover art and links to be filled in later...

Wow, Jay!  That was quick work!  Thanks. I hope it didn't take you 10 hours this time!

Outside of my Disney music interest, I am a fan of Halloween music.  Somehow I find it entertaining when people make inappropriate song choices for playlists simply based upon titles...this is a common occurrence at some weddings.  Unintentional hilarity!  And somehow it's even more entertaining when the Mouse does it...doesn't happen very often.

Me too. Halloween is actually my favorite holiday. But my idea of a proper Halloween CD or background music loop would be to stick with the novelty songs like "Monster Mash," "Purple People Eater," and "The Blob" (a 3-1/2 hour loop at Pop Century and they managed to leave out "The Blob?!"), and/or go instrumental using scary selections from well-known Horror/Sci-Fi/Suspense film scores like Halloween, Psycho, The Exorcist, Jaws, etc.

Most Halloween collections make little or no sense.

The Mouse does it a lot more than you think. I don't think Disney's selections for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster come close to being family friendly. My favorite is "Walk This Way" (You ain't seen nothin' till you're down on a muffin).

They've also got DJs inside of the parks and at Downtown Disney who are having small children dance along to things like the unedited version of "Greased Lightning" (I can get off my rocks / she's a real pussy wagon / the chicks'll cream), and worse, Britney Spears doozies like "3" (about a ménage à trois) and "If U Seek Amy" (F-U-C-K me). Great job, guys. :(

More than 10 hours!?!? But the last loop was 10 hours!  Then I shudder to think how long THAT must have taken you...

I have a few Halloween compilations I adore, including most of the classics (Monster Mash, Haunted House, Love Potion No. 9, something from Rocky Horror, etc.).  Many of them seem to have random, inexplicable 80s dance music (because people love to dance in costume?).  Old Navy put a pretty good one out a couple of years ago.  I don't think this playlist Pop is using is too bad--considering, especially, that there is a Wizards of Waverly Place soundtrack with covers of lots of these...I'm glad they used originals!

Ahhh...thanks to you, my Pop Halloween collection is now complete... Almost makes up for getting sick at WDW last week... :P
Now if I can just compile that Anandapur loop from DAK...

*Pokes dead thread with stick*

So, having reconstructed most of this loop and all of the Halloween loop from Pop (which I actually quite like on its own, even if it isn't always Halloweeny or even family-friendly), I think I'm coming to the conclusion that some of the best Pop music is what's played on the Disney buses.  I know that the bus loops are satellite-triggered, and therefore I don't know if there is more than one Pop loop depending on one's destination/origination point.  But I've heard great bus sing-a-longs including a very lively rendition of the Brady Bunch theme, the Star Wars disco track, and lots of other fun tunes that aren't actually played in the Classic Hall monstrosity.

Anyone attempted this project already?  I'll be staying at Pop in January so I can make a try...I don't know how long they let you ride the Pop bus before they kick you off/haul you off to the loony bin :-)

The loops that I have already done will be back online shortly. As for the other Pop Century loops, I have not had a chance to get back over there yet.

I could use your help figuring out when in the early A.M. they turn the music on in the Classic Hall and what the names of the first two or three songs are. I haven't been in a hurry to get there at 6:00 A.M. :D

I thought this loop was complete...?  Or is it that you don't know which song comes first?

I'm an 80s fan, so I'm very curious about the 80s pool loop.

And chandler20, hopefully you saw the thread where we posted the Pop bus loop--a truly fun collection that took a while to wrangle out of WDI due to some comical misperceptions on the part of customer service...no one on here has fully verified it, but I've verified pieces and it seems good.

A real fan would be there by 5:30am (speaking from experience).

If you run out of projects, perhaps you can go to the Boardwalk and see if the speakers outside by Jellyrolls are still playing the BGM heard on the boardwalk, rather than the interior loop.  It was doing this for the Christmas BGM, although prior to the Christmas BGM starting last year, these speakers played the interior loop, which was the case for the past few years.  Having a reference recording, or playlist, of the boardwalk BGM would be a nice addition.

I just need to know which song(s) are first. The loop starts with the exact same song every day. One of the Duty Managers there tells me that the first song is "The Twist." If that is true, I also need to know the name of the second song, since "The Twist" and "The Hustle" are both special songs that are on a timer.

Could you explain further what you mean by this?
Me: I'm trying to track down a copy of every theme park album ever released. I want to write sort of a definitive reference.

Don Dorsey: If you want to write a definitive version, you better start now and plan on working until you die.

Pop Century guests are invited to join cast members as they dance to "The Twist" every morning at 8:00 A.M. and to "The Hustle" every evening at 6:00 P.M. These tracks are on a timer, they interrupt the regular selections, and they are extremely loud.

Thankfully during the week I spent at the Pop last spring I managed not to be around for this.

So these two tracks are not part of the actual loop then but rather individual items that would interrupt the loop itself at those set times (even if they may be included within the loop at other times) ?
