Hello,

I have just finished watching "The Boys" for the 3rd time. What an entertaining and thought provoking piece of work. Kudos to all involved in the making of this film.

At approximately 41 minutes into the film Richard Sherman is shown sitting at the piano trying to compose a song. Some of the lyrics are, "Put it in the album ... the family album ...all your friends will love it ... the family album ... with the dates above it ... the family album ..."

Does anyone have any information if this is a published song?

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,

Tom

Thanks so much Jay. Guess I should have been a little more specific. Do you know where one would get a copy of this song? Is it from a Disney movie?

I went onto the BMI website but really don't understand what I'm reading.

May be delving into uncharted waters here but..............
BI collects the license fees when a song is used and gives the royalties to the people concerned.
Those pages tell who gets it and who the composers are. It also tells you who the publisher is (the person who has the rights to publication anyway).
It doesn't, however, tell you if it's available or even if it's been performed somewhere.
I don't think (at least I couldn't find any references for it) it's appeared in anything other than "the Boys".
Knowing how these things are done, it may even have been written especially as an illustration of composing for the film sequence - it does say they were just shouting out anything that came into their head.
They'd still register what they had it in case anyone else tried the same thing - even if it's an unfinished piece.
Guesswork on my part, of course.

Disney Family Album featured instrumental music by John Debney as its opening/closing theme.

Fast forward to 1:27 for theme:

Fast forward to 8:11 for credit:

This hasn't been released in the UK (I have only seen odd clips of it - including the "family album" section.. After reading up on it due to this thread, I have now duly ordered it from Amazon ;)
Jay, you should have put a link up!
