If I get the chance, I plan on doing a reference recording at the Yacht and Beach Club as well as BoardWalk pretty soon. I have a couple of questions if anyone has any advice. I'm very new at this.

First, does anyone have recommendations on possible speaker locations to use? I'm thinking inside might be better since it's a little chilly in FL right now.

Also, I'll just be using my iPhone or Mac to make the recording. Any recommendations on an app or program to use for recording?
